within the “Night of Museums” project avant-premiere of the performance in the exhibition hall “Olivje”, PRОЕКТ_FАБRИКА
Russian premiere of the performance as a part of INTRADANCE International Festival in Moscow, in the exhibition hall “Olivje”, PRОЕКТа_FАBRИКА
This performance is a journey beyond the limits (quite often the limits are set only in our minds). It is a work on the unknown and what makes us proceed along the path, it is about the (im)possibility to move on. And if it is impossible to keep on moving further then we want to go back home...
Far away from here / «Далеко отсюда» / Longe daqui...is a performance created by the Portugueses in Russia. Combining actors with different backgrounds, from different schools and genres — drama, non-verbal, physical, visual theatres and circus — demolishes all the boundaries. Notwithstanding how far a man would get, he/she still has an opportunity to understand another man.
A performance is created within the framework of the International INTRADANCE Project supported financially by the Euro Union.

Victor Hugo Pontes, a director and a choreographer from Portugal, who gets confused answering the question what contemporary dance is, and who gives no fixed genre definitions to his performances, says:
“I never wanted to create a show about Russia. Moscow is a special city, different from others where I’ve lived or where I’ve been. And still, people who live here, have a lot in common with Portuguese or French people. We all want to know what’s going on outside the border, outside our house’s walls, outside our bedroom’s door. That’s why we go traveling to different countries so to check whether it is true that in America everything’s bigger than in Europe. Or how is it like to spend all year round in shorts and flip-flops?
In Russia I realized that time is the longest distance between two places, that my origins are inscribed in my skin, that I don’t belong here, to this country and this city, although at the same time, this is part of my land.”
